Strong mathematics and control system background, hands-on experience in working with practical systems, hardworking, and passion for research (evident from your CV).
Master’s students: You are in the top 5 % of your class in your Bachelor’s degree program. If you have publications, this will strengthen your case.
Ph.D. students: You were in the top 5 % of your class in your Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs. You have submitted AIAA or IEEE conference/journal papers from your Master’s work.
Postdoctoral Fellows: You have significant journal publications (at least 3+ full AIAA/IEEE journal papers) and you qualify for one of the following or similar fellowship programs:

5. NSERC Banting postdoctoral fellowships (open to Canadian and international applicants, highly competitive, need excellent publications record, and prior awards such as best paper award)
