2021         Best Paper Award: A paper entitled “Modeling Vehicle Collision Instincts over Road Midblock using Deep Learning,” by S. Patil, N. Raju, S. Arkatkar, and S. Easa won the Best Paper Award of the traffic engineering track at the 8th International Conference on Transportation Systems Engineering and Management (CTSEM2021), held online in Kerala, India, August 26-27, 2021.

2021         Featured Paper. A paper entitled, “Intersection Sight Distance Characteristics of Turbo Roundabouts” by A Salwan, S. Easa, N Raju, and S. Arkatkar was selected as the Featured Paper in the cover of an issue of the Designs Journal, 5, 2021.

2021         Keynote Speaker, 8th International Conference on Transportation Systems Engineering and Management (CTSEM2021), held online in Kerala, India, August 26-27, 2021. The presentation is entitled “Highway landscaping design is more than visual: Integrating four human senses.”

2021         Keynote Speaker, International Conference on Intelligent Infrastructure in Transportation and Management (i-TRAM), July 10-11, 2021, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. The presentation is entitled “Advances and Innovations in Intelligent Transportation Infrastructures.”

2021         Keynote Speaker, 6th International Conference on Electromechanical Control Technology and Transportation (ICECTT 2021), Chongqing, China, May 14-16, 2021, Guangzhou, China. The presentation is entitled "Reliability Analysis in Transportation: Overview and Current Gaps.”

2021         International Academic Chair, 6th International Conference on Electromechanical Control Technology and Transportation (ICECTT 2021), held in Chongqing, China, May 14-16, 2021. The conference was organized by the Academic Exchange International Center and co-organized by more than ten universities in China. The conference attracted nearly 300 experts, teachers, and students from more than 40 universities and scientific and technological enterprises.

2020         Editor’s Choice, Journal paper featured in the Editor’s Choice section of the Journal of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering page in the ASCE Library https://ascelibrary.org/journal/jidedh. 2020         IAAM Fellow Award, Award was given by the International Association of Advanced Materials (IAAM). The lecture was entitled "Uncertainty-based Superpave asphalt mix design.”

2020         Featured Paper. A paper entitled, “Performance-Based Analysis in Civil Engineering: Overview of Applications,” by S. Easa and W. Yan was selected as the Featured Paper in a special issue of the Infrastructures Journal, 4(2), 28, 1-41, 2019. The issue includes 21 research papers and one review paper. The special issue is guest edited by Dr. Pedro Arias-Sánchez (Editor-in-Chief) and Dr. Susana Lagüela López.

2020         IAAM Lecture Award, Award was given to postdoc fellow Dr. V. Abolhasannejad by IAAM. The lecture was entitled "Experimental evaluation of Deformation of Transport Infrastructures Using Image-based Methods," by Abolhasannejad, Easa, Dong, Huang, and Li.

2020         Webinar Lecturer to Transportation Research Group India, presented a webinar lecture entitled "Discerning Driver Behavior for Traffic-Flow Applications using Vehicular Trajectories," to TRG India (126 attendees). This lecture addressed recent developments of trajectory data for heterogeneous traffic. The webinar is primarily targeted to generating interest among researchers, especially doctoral and master students.

2020         Keynote Speaker, International Conference on Smart City Engineering and Public Transportation, held in Guangzhou, China, March 28, 2020 (online). The presentation is entitled "Smart Cities Require Smart Public Transportation Systems”

2019         Keynote Speaker, International Academic Exchange Conference on Science and Technology Innovation, held in Guangzhou, China, December 20-22, 2019. The presentation is entitled "Smart Cities: Developments and Challenges

2019         Keynote Speaker, International Symposium for Graduate Students in Civil Engineering and the National Civil Engineering Forum for Graduate Students, held at Fuzhou University, December 13-14, 2019. The presentation is entitled "Developments and Challenges of Smart Civil Engineering Systems”

2019         Keynote Speaker, International Conference on Intelligent Transportation and Vehicle Engineering, which will be held in Chongqing, China, December 6-8, 2019. The title of the speech is "Smart Transportation Systems: Challenges and Opportunities."

2019         Invited Delegate. Invited by the Government of China to attend the ceremony of the national Anniversary of the Founding of China, held in Great Hall, Beijing, China, September 26-29. One major event attended was the seminar on “China Science and Technology Innovation Policy.”

2019         Member, Advisory Board. The activities include: If you serve on the Advisory Board, you can help us on the following aspects: (1) advising on journal policy, development strategies, and promotion. (2) being invited to make preliminary check and final decision for the submissions falling in my area of expertise, (3) proposing and serving as guest editor of Special Issues, and (4) helping to promote the journal at scientific conferences and through other venues.

2018         IAAM Medal for 2018. The International Association for Advanced Materials (over 50,000 members from 139 countries) has honored Dr. Said Easa with the IAAM Medal for 2018 for "notable and outstanding research in the Advanced Materials Science & Technology." The award was presented to Dr. Easa by IAAM Secretary General Dr. Ashutosh Tiwari at the award ceremony held at the European Advanced Materials Congress, Stockholm, Sweden, August 20-23, 2018. Award

2005         Arthur M. Wellington Prize, from American Society of Civil Engineers for the best paper on transportation on land, on water, in air, or on closely related fields such as structural, geotechnical, and environmental engineering. Award.
